“‘I was pleasantly surprised to see people eager to get back into the contest spirit,’ said Siedlecki, having inked several clients to the Circa Million Football Contest. ‘We’ve seen an influx of people inquiring about and booking appointments for July and August. A lot of customers that we thought we had lost due to the shutdown have already re-scheduled (appointments).’“
“Bettors who believe they have big edges on NFL season win totals can go for larger payouts at Circa Sports. Circa has opened alternative season win totals on all 32 teams, allowing bettors to essentially buy or sell an extra game on their bets… ‘You can get a nice plus price,’ Circa sportsbook manager Chris Bennett said. ‘You’ll see some people go for the extra cushion. Some try to middle their bets.’“
“When DeRosa, a 37-year-old sports bettor from Florida, received word that a handful of top books on the Strip were opening their windows for the first time in weeks, he booked the first flight he could find to Sin City. Within a span of 48 hours, DeRosa visited at least seven books, including Circa Sports at Golden Gate Hotel & Casino, where he collected a $63,000 payout on a 2019 NFL MVP wager.
During his excursion through the sportsbooks, one commonality stood out: an unwavering commitment to customer safety, with concerns related to COVID-19 at the forefront.“
“Las Vegas sportsbooks use different processes for their in-play odds, but they all acknowledge the difficulty of producing accurate lines on the fly. Circa Sports does its in-play betting by hand, with highly experienced traders making the numbers while keeping an eye on the larger market. ‘We don’t have a formula or an algorithm,’ sportsbook manager Chris Bennett said.
Pregame lines will always be stronger for sportsbooks because of all the extra time to gather information, he said. ‘Once something has been sitting out there for many hours, you can have a lot more confidence,’ Bennett said.“
“Betting on the Kentucky Derby has just gotten a little more interesting with Circa Sports pushing two-way betting with its futures odds… ‘If they bet into the normal pool, they’re leaving money on the table, where they get the same odds on the yes as on the yes/no,’ said Paul Zilm, Circa Sports’ risk supervisor. ‘And what that does is that gives us flexibility to manage it. But it also gives the bettor flexibility if they want to take a stand against a horse that’s getting over-bet, that they don’t like, then they can lay the ‘No.’’“
“Most bettors are waiting until later in the week, or at least until after Wednesday’s post-position draw, to see how the odds adjust. So the longest shot seeing money so far isn’t actually that long a shot. ‘We’ve seen a little bit of play on Tap It To Win, but that’s it so far,’ Benson said of a horse listed as the 9/1 fourth choice.
What’s drawing more attention is Circa Sports’ Yes/No to-win market, particularly with a minus-money favorite. Bettors are fading Tiz the Law by betting No +105. ‘Yes/No coincides with what we like to do in other markets, pricing a team to win or not win,’ Benson said. ‘It’s obviously been well-received. This provides an avenue to take the field, against what will presumably be a sizable morning-line favorite.’“

If commissioner Rob Manfred imposes a season of 50-odd games, that decision will reflect poorly on him and his owners. But still it’s fair to wonder: Where exactly is the Players Association going with this? Column: https://t.co/7RlmbfUiQU

Sure sounds like the next step will be for the league to exercise its right to impose a season of 50-odd games. Union not countering most recent proposal. League still could make another offer. https://t.co/utwSYIfbER

Here’s a bar bet you will NEVER lose:
There are only four men in MLB history who have hit home runs in four different decades. They are:
Ted Williams
Willie McCovey
Rickey Henderson….
and Omar Vizquel. pic.twitter.com/KK7huTrRAa
